Abstract
Knowledge management guarantees the long-run superiorities for organizations and societies. It is also the extent to which they utilize human, intellectual and information capital. Understanding knowledge management as a spirit governing organizational practices and the effectiveness that it can have on the development of urban management is essential to its implementation. This study is a kind of "applied" study. Due to the nature of the subject and the components under consideration, the approach to it is a set of descriptive-analytical and correlation methods. Data gathering was done in both documentary and survey (questionnaire) forms. The statistical population of this study is managers, deputies and experts of Yazd city (287 people). Using Cochran's formula, a sample size of 102 participants was calculated according to the principle of proportionality in the six municipalities of Yazd. In this study Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. The pre-test on 30 baseline questionnaires, knowledge management questionnaire alpha as 0.964 and urban management questionnaire as 0.957 were used for analysis. Data were analyzed via the SEM and second-order confirmatory factor analysis test. The results showed that knowledge management has a positive and significant effect on urban management as 0.88, explaining 77% of the variance of knowledge management.
