Abstract

Introduction

One issue that is more important today than in the past is to pay attention to trends in the Quran that should be established according to modern science. Geographical interpretation, as one of the trends of scientific interpretation, deals with scientific interpretation through the employment of modern geographical sciences and through reassuring scientific materials that agree with the appearance of the verses of the Quran. Moreover, any interpretation is avoided, and the meaning of the Quran is only spoken about possibly. In the Holy Quran, it is used in 223 verses directly or indirectly in about one hundred places. Examining these places can show the connection of the Quran with the knowledge of geography and the formation of a new method of interpretation in understanding the verses of the Quran. This article was written with the hypothesis that the deep connection between the Quran and geography, with its high richness, is ready to create a specialized field of interpretation in this field. Its purpose is to introduce the trend of geographical interpretation of the places of the Holy Quran and compile its foundations to expand Understanding of Quranic verses.

Methodology

The main method of the research is based on the theory of the field; in order to reach it, the method of data-oriented theorizing has been used. In this method, the necessary data has been provided by reviewing the verses of the Quran and coding the relevant verses. This coding is based on the sources of geography and by discovering sub-categories compared to the main category, the general interpretation model has been formed. In order to collect data, by reviewing the verses related to the topic, the relevant verses (223 verses) have received the necessary code or codes, but due to the limitation of the volume of the article, only a sample of the verses and codes given to them, in a very brief manner. Scholars and geography experts refer to the appearance and authentic interpretations of Quranic verses. The collected data is sometimes directly related to the topic and sometimes indirectly, and it does not mean that all the data are only specific to geographical places and are not used in other topics, but all the things collected that are directly or indirectly related to geographical interpretation. Since finding data from the Quran depends on understanding the index and general principles related to the Quran's geographical interpretation, these items must be collected first. Then, the proximity and affinity of geographical interpretation with them should be examined.

Results and discussion

The geographical interpretation of the places of the Holy Quran, because the place mentioned in the verses helps to identify the exact location of the regions and also to discover the importance of the said region in the Quran among other regions in the world and the geographical elements of the mentioned regions, have an effect on removing the ambiguity of the verses of the Quranو has special importance and position. Geographical interpretation is the explanation of the meanings of the geographical verses of the places of the Holy Quran, which reveals the serious meaning based on valid rules through the examination of the geographical location. Geographical interpretation, as one of the trends of scientific interpretation, is among the valid methods of interpretation (Quran-to-Quran interpretation, narrative interpretation, rational interpretation, scientific interpretation, indicative interpretation, and ijtihad interpretation). In addition to the fact that in this interpretation method, we are not willing to extract all sciences from the Holy Quran or impose scientific theories, but we seek to employ geographical sciences for a better understanding of the verses of the Quran and to guide the foundations and goals of the science of geography and scientific theorizing of the Holy Quran. In this way, the interpreter deals with scientific interpretation through reliable scientific materials that agree with the appearance of the verses of the Quran and discovers the overall meanings. Furthermore, any interpretation is avoided, and the meaning of the Quran is spoken only as a possibility. The findings include five core categories and one core category. This new method has certain basics that can be done in a sequential, thematic, interdisciplinary, or comparative interpretation method.

Conclusion

More importantly, it explains the transtemporal nature of the Holy Quran and the direction and purpose of the science of geography in line with the noble goals of the Holy Quran. The places mentioned in the Quran have characteristics very close to the extracted geography categories. In this way, the geographical interpretation of places can be placed as one of the trends of scientific interpretation among other valid interpretation methods. By employing geographical sciences, he used it to understand the verses of the Quran better and direct the science of geography in lofty goals and scientific theorizing. The geographical verses of the places used in the Quran have specific purposes, which include expressing the place of life and the warnings and evangelism of the prophets to their people, giving objectivity to the events mentioned in the Quran, expressing divine ownership, the importance of many treasures on earth, expressing The scope of power and power of prophets and kings, explaining the sanctity of a place, revealing the deception of the enemy, showing the greatness and glory of a city or civilization, reminding the believers of God's salvation and help, assigning special features to a region, assigning orders and orders to act in one place is a sign of something, explaining the fate of the deniers, expressing divine rites and expressing divine miracles. In order to achieve the results, strategies can be suggested, including the creation of a Quran and geography research center, the compilation of a book on the subject of explaining the foundations and infrastructures of this tendency, the creation of a university course on the subject of the Quran and geography, and paying attention to geographical interpretation with four methods; sequential, thematic, interdisciplinary and comparative, definition of research plans and projects in the study of places of the Quran.
